Meet Dr. Daniel C. Mathews

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist located in Cedar Park, Texas. My work focuses on helping adults who are capable, thoughtful, and engaged—yet feel stuck, strained, or not fully themselves despite prior efforts.

Many people I work with have already tried standard approaches and are looking for care that is more deliberate—grounded in clinical judgment, perspective, and a deeper understanding of what is actually driving their difficulties.

Background and Perspective

I completed my psychiatric training at Johns Hopkins Hospital and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). That training reflects a foundation in clinical rigor and careful, evidence-informed thinking—an approach that continues to shape how I evaluate problems and make decisions.

Over the course of my career, I’ve worked across clinical practice, hospital administrative roles, and corporate leadership settings. Alongside life outside of medicine, this experience has shaped a grounded understanding of responsibility, pressure, and the tradeoffs people navigate in both professional and personal domains.

How I Work With Patients

In my work, I place a strong emphasis on careful listening, pattern recognition, and deliberate decision-making—an approach shaped by both my training and experience across different clinical and leadership environments.

Care may involve medication, therapy, TMS, or a combination, but decisions are made intentionally and revisited over time as response and understanding evolve. The focus is not on quick fixes, but on helping people regain clarity, stability, and a stronger sense of agency.

Who This Tends to Be a Good Fit For

This practice tends to work well for adults who value:

  • thoughtful discussion and collaboration

  • understanding what is driving their symptoms

  • steady, measured progress over time

  • care that adapts as insight deepens

It may be less helpful for those seeking purely transactional visits or a single predefined solution.
